The Gazing Space – A Multisensory Spatial Installation

In this series of creative explorations, material form and technological interventions—such as optics, sound, and spatial deformation—are deliberately reduced to their most essential yet intense minimum. This restraint renders the object of gaze radically pure, drawing the viewer inescapably into a process of reflection, wherein moments of reciprocal subjectivity emerge between the self and the object.

Within this illuminated or targeted state, the viewer is no longer a detached observer. Instead, through the interplay of environment, medium, and spatial atmosphere, they encounter the gaze and force projected by the object—or even the non-object—itself.

In doing so, the work provokes a fundamental question:

When the object acquires the agency to gaze back, are the boundaries of human cognition and perception being profoundly excavated—or even dismantled?
